Hi all,

Can anyone point me to engine manufacturers who offer the variable geometry turbos in a common rail marine diesel under 150 hp? I want to suck the hp out of this engine when it is loaded by a controllable pitch prop at very lows rpms. Thanks.

Both Holset and Garrett manufacture these turbos.

Search for "Variable Geometry Turbochargers" or "Variable Nozzle Turbochargers" and that should give you plenty of webpages to keep you busy for a couple hours.

I believe the Holset design is superior to the Garrett one but I'll let you decide that by yourself by reading about how the Variable Nozzle effect is achieved in each case.

Email me at toughbutfair@hotmail.com if you have further questions.
