Hi.

I'm wondering, what is a good wavelength to use for measuring the cell growth of microalgae by turbidity measurements. Literature seems to suggest various wavelengths, such as 450 nm and 680 nm (highest response, possibly due to chlorophyll absorbance), as well as 540 nm (lowest interference possible from chlorophylls).

So which argument is right?

Also, I have done experiments using various wavelengths, trying to find the correlation between the turbidity and cell number. This correlation seems to change always, making a 10% variation between the two properties unattainable, even when I work within the linear ranges of the absorbances.

Please comment? Thanks!
