Mirak1
Hi,
I was loaned an amazing bass clarinet whose shape is different from the ones I used to have or any other one I could see on the net.
The bell is on the level of the right hand, but on the left side. I can provided a photograph.
It has no manufacturer's name on it. The key system is different from the usual Sellmer, Buffet or Noblet bass clarinets that I know and rather awkward to use. Nevertheless the sound is very good.
It ranges down to Bb. All open with no fingers, it plays middle F. Would you call that a Eb bass clarinet?
Then my question is of course: do you have an idea what this instrument could be? What manufacturer? What year was it done?
