Greek mythology

Herakles carried arrows and a "great club"; but he didn't start out with these.

Anybody know at what point he first picked them up?

I, myself, am not 100% sure because I can't remember exactly the tales of Herakles. But if I were to make and educated guess... I would say that he probably picked them up on one of his quests. Perhaps the Twelve Labors?

If he didn't start out with these weapons, then they're probably "spoils of war."

Uh,... yeah. That was a given. I just haven't been able to find the source, hopefully telling which labor and at what point during that labor, he picked up his club.
