Hello my name is Rowena Still I live in the United States...I lover of art and antiques....In reading Ive come across that the restoration of Michelangiolo Buonarrati ceiling painting in Vatican. In the Sistin Chapel was started between June 1980 & December 1999...With premliminary test done taking place in 1979...1st stage was started October 1984 and was completed December 1989...Restoration was unveiled by Pope John II on April 8th 1994...Last stage & final stage was completed by Botticelli and others but rumored that during the last stage some of the piece were missing..(or to me stolen)..Question if so...when restoration was made were the pieces marked for verification?....And do you know which piece that were taking?...Would really like to know.....
