Hello guys. i am writing as assignment on michael's chekhov psychological gestures. despite my research i still can't completely understand what a pg is. i understand that it is a characteristic movement that sums up a character's motives and is designed to put the actor constantly in character. what i can't understand is how it works. i mean, in a play is the actor supposed to do the same gesture again again (e.g nodding his head) or is it more psychological? like stanislavsky's idea of inner monologue? is the actor actually supposed to do the pg or just keep it in mind?
thanks in advance,
