I am a neuroradiologist in Bombay,India, thinking about "I".
Do you believe that understanding of some of the philosophies extensively expounded in the Vedantas of our culture will bridge the gap of understanding the "neuroscientific basis of consciousness". Sometimes, when I read or hear some of the leading minds in this field entirely dismissing any thought that is not main stream science as "hog wash", I get the impression that not only are they being conceited but also missing a rare opportunity to understand the wisdom on this topic.
