I remember when I was a kid, there was a presentation about minerals at my school. There was one mineral that I thought was particularly amazing; this mineral could transmit an image from the bottom surface to the top! If you put a 1 inch cube of this material on a sheet of newspaper, for instance, it seemed as though the image was not on the surface actually touching the newspaper, but that it had been projected to the top of the cube! Almost as though the newspaper was inside the mineral, right underneath the top surface! It may have been some kind of calcite or something. Does anyone know which mineral I am describing?
