Have a 96 jeep cherokee larado 4x4...idles beautifully between 0 & 1 rpms, but lately, all of a sudden, does an idle 'hiccup' and drops down to 0 rpm. it only does this intermittenly, so my mechanic cannot diagnose it. Recently it did three very fast consecutive idle 'hiccups' in a row. Felt like the engine was going to die, so I put it in park and gunned the engine.

Also, the word 'LO' has come on and off on the indication screen for the past month...cant find any explanation in the original 1996 manual.

Could the idle 'hiccup' be a sensor problem or???
