Graduating from U of Michigan my son finished with a 2.85GPA in Economics and 158 LSAT. He is very intelligent and hard working. The primary reasons for his low scores is 'me.' I have a brain tumor that was first discovered 12 1/2 years ago. It could not be fully removed only reduced in size. I went on for over 7 yrs before I needed the tumor reduced [I'm told this is a great run]. That time I asked for Chemo and was approved. The problem was the 2nd time was in April before my son was going to U of M in Sept. After the second operation I was on Chemo for 14 mos it was to be 12 mos but I caught pneumonia in January and was hospitalized for 30 days. This time it was in Sept 2008 and worst. I had surgery in Oct 2008, followed by 30 days [5 days/wk] of Radiation during Xmas in Dec and started Chemo in Jan 2009, while still receiving Radiation. This time my treatments where delayed by blood clots [more than 15 in my lungs] plus both legs - I just made down to the Radiation area before I collapsed. How much all this plus school effected my son, I'm not sure. Is there any hope of my son being considered?
I think he has come to grips with my condition and was able to improve his grades in the last year. I've used up my 9 lives, I am now on full disability with no chance of going back to work. Thank you for your time.
