I am an independent artist and geometry/mathematics has been my greatest inspiration...for many years now i have given myself problems the solutions of which can be expressed visually...one example is "The Squared Square" i.e. is it possible to divide a square into a number of smaller squares each of different size covering the original square with no gaps or overlays...this would appear to be a simple problem and though there are an infinite number of solutions only ten or so have been found to date...the first having been discovered by a group of mathematicians at Cambridge Uni (U.K.) in the earlty 1930's...so this is just one of The Problems that have pre-occupied me over the years and that has lead to a Painting.
