From 1929 - 1931 my father was assigned to Ft Sam Huston, TX as an officer in the Quartermaster Corps on military construction duty with the Construction Division. He also accomplished construction assignments in Hot Springs, AR (building a hospital) in 1932, Harrodsburg, KY (building a monument) in 1933, and West Point, NY in 1935 before attending the Quartermaster School in Philadelphia in 1936. What was the organizational structure of these assignments? Who would he have been assigned to? What was the chain of command?
