AsPresident of the 15th Cavalry History Brittany Group, chapter USA. I am writing to you with a Question for clearification.
Our Parent group the 15th Cavalry History Brittany Group, is headded by Mr. Eric Boete of Ploubezre, France, and partisipating in many local military WWII Ceremonies in Brittany to honor the fallen American Soldier who made their ultimate sacrifice during their fight from the Beaches of Normandie to Caen and Cherbourg as Taskforce "A" under Gen. george S.Pattons 3rd Army.
The 15th History Britany Group, Chapter France, was personnaly invited by the French President N. Sakozy during the Victory Caermony May 8-2011 at St. louis, France, and to present the Colors.
Mr. Boete received an invitation for the Memorial Day Ceremony at the American Cemetery at St. James but was told he could NOT present the colors of the 15th Cavalry.
My question to you Sir, is there such a regulation which prohibits Organizations to represent the Country and Regimental Colors during Memorial Ceremonies or is it up to the Cemetary Superintendent to make such a desicion.
Your kind response and clear direction who and when the Colors can be represented at military Memorial Services, as now on May-30-2011, Memorial Day would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Werner P. Schultz
President
15th Cavalry History Brittany Group, Chapter USA.
