I am the son of a Blue Puttee and it's kind of late in life to be starting a discussion about events in WW 1 as I am 76 years old and i would guess there is not too much of us around. Anyway, my granddaughter, Taylor, had a school assignment to dig up information on her grand parents. fortunately, my father was still around when my son,Mark, her father, was born. My father whose name was Tom, died when Mark was 4 years old. This prompted me do a search about him. Altho he would never talk about it, he was one of the First Five Hundred to sign up and promptly saw action in Galipoli where he was wounded and sent back to England. He was ready for the first battle in the Somme valley, beaumont hamil, where the first newfoundland regiment was virtually annilated with over 90% casualties. Of course there is much more to write about but I don't even know if there is anyone alive who had a father who served in WW 1. so if there is please reply and i will get back to you.
