Hi there! I'm researching my fathers service history, & have now found his service record in the royal marines,(I now will try to find his service record in WW1). His name was Edgar Moore of Stalybridge Lancs.He was discharged in May 1911 (I think) but on his service record he was given a railway warrant to Alton, giving his residence as 29 Church St., Alton Hants.This is a complete mystery to me as we have no connections there.Can anyone please help me to find out more?Does this house still exist? Does anyone know who was living there at the time? He was discharged at Portsmouth.I hope someone out there can help. Many thanks Hilda (Spain)
