My grand farther was a partner in the quarry at Stepper Point
before WW2, my family has had some blame for the river changing over the years,this was said to be due to the removal of the headland at Stepper.
Do you think that removing of the headland that was originally intended to improve sailing in the estuary and started in the mid 1800's and nothing to do with us,made any difference to tide and silting up of the river?
