Family folk-lore leads me to beleive that my great, great grandfather, Jacques Greebe, composed and was a musical director at the Gaiety but I cannot find any evidence of this. Does anyone have any info?

Jacques Greebe was certainly at the Gaiety for a time but his name was written as Grebe ... 'I asked Jacques Grebe if there were any deputies playing that night, as I had not been notified about it, and a stranger had just gone in. He said there were not any, so I went after this man very quickly.' This appears in a book about the Gaiety by James Jupp & written in 1923 .

Jacques mother, I am almost 100% certain , was Sarah Ellen & was herself a music teacher ; taught until at least 1911 . Jona , his father also played in an Orchestra....this was clearly a musical family
