I was an ex 206 Sqdn F/O co-pilot who then came to 42 Sqdn.
Gained experience and became a Flt. Lt. and then a Pilot in Command. [ Left RAF & went on to fly 707's then 747's for Qantas Australia,]
- Official Squadron records are very BORING. [ On both 206 & 42 I had to update Sqdn history as part of my 'Secondary Duties. '

But we had fun.
- e.g. No flying that day. Our new Sdn Ldr for our B flight came into our 'Coffee Bar'to meet me & my rather weird, 10-person crew. "Would you like a cup of tea, Sir?" - "Yes please. " - We ordered 11 cups and two teabags. Dunked the 2 teabags amongst the 11 cups and added sugar, milk etc, as required.

He'd been warned about us, of course. I was from Australia & New Zealand and had gathered all the other Commonwealth sergeants plus Scottish and Welsh guys for my crew.

He took in it good heart and turned out to be a good Flight Commander.
