If a curry dish has an unusual name, one should ask which language?
This poses a problem, because I know Massaman is a Thai word (only in the last 3 centuries?).
Taken apart, many Thai cannot comprehend the meanings of either "mas" or "sa" but "man" may mean oily or potato!
Any etymological opinions?
On "musulman" was that a French term or Lingua Franca (Portuguese)term during the Ayutthaya Period?
