Enigmatic Thoughts

I only have a few thoughts to add to the long-standing confusion over the Enigma issue...

Firstly, there appears to be a large fascination amongst the band regarding the question of humanity... or rather:
"Are humans capable of being humane?"
As quoted from DSOTM album and recent dvd.

The band is also well known for, how to put it, choosing their words very carefully. Like 'the game of houses' as described by RObert Jordan in his wheel of time series... I would reccommend careful analysis of the DSOTM DVD, in regards to the, uh, legal phrasings, of what is said and when during the "very carefully recorded" DVD.

Regarding numbers and such, there are some things I wish to convey.

Firstly, music and math are not separate. It could be that careful analysis of the 'musical alphabet' might lead to some deeper understanding behind Flloydian phenomena.. there have been musicians and mathematicians over the years who have managed to write letters with music which to the uninitiated appear to be simple melody.

Secondly, few people have fully explored the link between sound and physics. There are a number of non-related videos on youtube about the effect of sound on pattern formation. Many of these patterns resemble the chiasmatic imagery Floyd are known for. Cymatics is the 'conventional' term.

Thirdly, much of the Floyds music is based on loops and echoes... which lends me to thinking that echoes are a phenomena we are not looking into enough... like using sound to boil water, or to assist in sonofusion...

Lastly, this enigma may never be solved as apparently the band is now on it's last legs with most members no longer capable of creating new music or to answer the question of the enigma. IMHO, the enigma at it's heart is all about why we behave the way we do, how music can be used to build bridges and change lives and how we create divisions amongst ourselves... I do have ideas about physics and maths, but like the rest of my points above, my ideas are merely conjecture.

I'm still intrigued by this enigma, I only wish I could have met the band.
