Fist, this is a terrific series, but if you own a spectroniq home theater system the dvd may not work. I have had this system for about 3 years with no problems of regional encoding etc, but, over the past few months several companies new releases have been unable to be played. Most notably:
Star Trek (new release)Paramount
This is it, Michael Jackson Sony
Tears to Tiara
Bamboo Blade Funimation.
These all play fine on my old Samsung, but if you own newer systems that play multiple formats rent first if its a new title from Paramount, Sony, or Funimation. Not all, but many from these studios have a problem.
The system itself delivers a great picture, I use CVS inputs, great sound at a good price. If you have the system, buy after market, and use your old player. That's what I will do for the above titles. I won't pay full price for inferior picture and sound, and I'm not about to go out and buy a new one. I'm a disabled vet and I live on a fixed income.
