I don't think either is the case. We don't have free will, because our genes and brains make us do what we must do from a given stimulus, but no events are predetermined, due to the uncertainty principle.

What absolute garbage! We are a product of our biology, shaped by the environment in which we live, but humankind, alone,is given the ability to love, unconditionally, or hate with a demonic passion. There are far too many examples of selfless devotion and sacrifice, in the face of certain death,to simply suggest we conform to genetic necessity. It is our choice; no other spieces posseses that quality. Make no mistake: God is sovergn. For nothing we choose will surprize or alter His design, but we still have a choice. Because; that, He has granted.

Of course we have free will, you can always choose wether to end it all or live life to the best of your ability,to be kind or not, to love or not, to give or not,what to eat, drink, wear,fight or not, these are all human choices.If one is a christian,islamic jewish or whatever, certain events seem to be pre ordained, I peronally believe we make our own luck but that sometimjes fate takes a hand in our lives.

Thats all very well if one is a believer but I agree we have free choice whatever we beleive in but please do not equate all things to your religeous beliefs

Intricate.when one is young one thinks for free will.but as someone starts growing it starts shifting.and at the latter stage one is convinced that it all was predetermined and preprogrammed .u know why?

Every event in the entire universe is predestined and has been since the Big Bang. The birth and death of stars, collisions of planets etc were all mapped out from day 1. The same goes for humans. Events in our brains are the result of predestined activity at an atomic level and can only ever have one outcome. Ther eis no such thing as free will.

Trust me...I wasn't born 30+ yrs ago so that some day I would respond to your post....I chose to respond because I desired to wanted to and had the freedom to...so there...ha!...also one more thing for you....people who believe in no free will are the same people who take no responsibility for their own actions...it takes a stronger being to act on their own and accept all consequences of their choices than it is to just throw ones hands up and blame it on predetermined outcomes....I bet you are still in your twenties(if that)....
