Does anyone know what were the first STEREO records Angel released and when? The earliest I've come across is Sibelius' Violin COncerto (with David Oistrakh) and Symphony No. 3 (S-35315), although I'm suspecting the two LPs numerically preceding it--Sibelius' Symphony No. 1 (35313) and Symphony No. 2 (35314)--may also have been issued in stereo, being that all three deal with Sibelius symphonies, with the Philharmonia conducted by Paul Kletzki. (I have yet to see any proof that there are stereo versions of 35313 and 35314, but I did once see a stereo version of 35315 on eBay.) An other LPs earlier than these?

I just saw someone from Canada selling S-35314 (Symphony No. 2) on eBay: there's a close-up of the word "stereo" stamped in gold on top of the cover, and one of the record label itself clearly ID'd with "S" in front of the number. I, too, am searching for the earliest Angel stereo records, and thus far have not found any photographic proof of 35313 ever being issued in stereo, although it would make sense if it was, being part of this series of recordings. I have read in several places where a Prokofiev symphony (No. 7) was the first stereo recording made by EMI (parent company of Angel), but never specifically linked to Angel by name, nor any Angel recording of Prokofiev's Seventh preceding the Sibelius symphonies. Anyway, yes, there certainly is a stereo version of 35314.
