Does anyone know WHEN Russian youth started celebrating Ivan Kupala as a way to engage in Water fights. How did this begin/branch off from the traditional Kupala celebrations? Are there any laws against participating in such activity? If so, are they enforced? Any help you can give me would be great. Thanks.
