Does anyone have any personal recollections of LS Lowry? My grandfather took classes at Salford Art School WITH Lowry. They would have a cup of tea together between classes, taking turns to pay for the tea. One day, when it was Lowry's turn to pay he had no money and asked my grandfather if he could give him one of his sketches as payment. My grandfather scoffed at this and said he didn't want one of his rotten drawings! Oh, if ONLY he'd accepted it!!
