In sort yes is it already up or are putting them in?. if u are replacing an old window and the mortar is in good condition then you will do more damage then good. sometimes a re point with a strong mix 3 to 1 mix will do the trick hope this help and you understand my replay

Yes you should have a lentil to support your brick

Yes....unless its slightly arched..then it becomes\ an arch...for example you could have a 50mil arch over a metre and more..
