Their "jobs" are revealed by their names. Note that "El," means God in Hebrew, and that it appears at the end of the Archangels' names. As an example, "Rapha", means healing, so the Archangel, Raphael's "job" is "God's healing." Much knowledge of these things can be revealed by the study of Caballa. The mildly-curious can glean much about Archangels jobs, say, in the book, "The cosmic Christ"
by Tau Malachi, and can be obtained through most book stores, or ordered from LLEWELLYN.COM(the latter specializes in esoteric books, and, if you become very interested, I recommend GODWIN'S CABALISTIC ENCYCLOPEDIA, also carried by Llewellyn). After much confusion regarding Caballa, and Archangels, I found THE COSMIC CHRIST an easy and very enlightening read: inspiring too. The lord Jesus taught the Caballa to his Apostles, and revealed, surprisingly, more of the mysteries to Mary Magdalon, the "Apostle to the Apostles," than anybody else, and that is why some Apostles were jealous of her, and why Constantine and the chauvanistic, King James translators slandered the woman.

You will find that there are many books about Archangels, but be prudent, because most of them are bullshit. The Catholic Church's explication of the Archangels is perverse, I think, and I recommend you stay clear of their dogma.

Moreover, I've found that the Holy Bible is the best cross-reference, or, confirmation of what we read, or, study, elsewhere, so keep that by your side at all times.

God bless you!

James...

p.s. note that the Archangels are each a manifestation of a particular sphere of the "seven lower spheres" on the TREE OF LIFE.
