I have discovered Sallie Chisum's personal collection of ferrotypes and CDV's. The collection includes 70 photos including many of Billy Bonney's Regulators. Included is a wonderful and very clear picture of Dirty Dave. He appears in a clear full faced portrait. He is posed very close to the camera. He wears a new suit. There is an accompanying photo of Billy the Kid also wearing a new suit of cloths. We all know that both were given a new suit by Mike Cosgrove after their capture at Stinking Springs.The photo shows Dave much thinner than he appears in his decapitated head. Dave looks sinister; he glares at the camera's lens. He has a heavy brow and a "V" shaped mustache. Dave looks just as one thinks he should, mean and vile. He is clean shaven with a square jaw with straight dark hair that turns up at the tips.
