Did anybody else think that Dolly Luna was an actual teacher instead of a substitute before chapter eleven?

Yeah. I mean, when they were talking about Dolly Luna's students kidnapping her the year before, I kind of assumed that she was an actual teacher. But then, the author said something about how Dolly was substituting for Mr. Griffin when he didn't show up at school one day.

So if shes a teacher she needed a sub to sub for her subbing for Mr. Griffin, or shes just a sub. And if she got kidnapped WHY? The kids that did it knew somehow she's was going to be a sub so they kidnapped her...because...she....?

Well, Dolly Luna did get kidnapped, but it was just a joke that her students played on her. Of course, Mr. Griffin's kidnapping was also supposed to be a joke and we all know how that turned out...

I thought she was an actually teacher. It's a book and the author can pretty much do whatever he/she wants with the story so....
