The major difference is that the Democratic Party is based on organization of faction, which makes them a strong party politically, but with no direction of their own. The Republican Party is based on financial and political theory, which makes them a weak party politically looking for heroic ways to lose political battles. The Democratic Party, having no political direction of their own, now align themselves with what they perceive to be international strength, world socialism. while the Republicans now see themselves as the protectors of nationalism. Because both parties are out of touch with the people, they are both decreasing in numbers, while the number of independent voters is increasing.
