My grandfather, Istvan (Stephen) Demeter, who was the son of Janos and Katalin Dallos Demeter, was born in 1889 in Tur Terebes, Hungary. He emigrated to the United States in 1906, and married Teres (Theresa) Smutz, who was also born in Tur Terebes in 1889. She was the daughter of Janos (John) and Theresa Ezeleis Smutz. Istvan and Teres married in the U.S. in 1917. I know that Istvan had at least two brothers, Gyorgy and Janos. Teres had three brothers, Gyorgy and Istvan, who also emigrated to the U.S., and Andrew (Andras) Smutz, who remained in Hungary (Romania). Teres also had two sisters, Mary and Elizabeth Smutz, who both remained in Hungary (Romania). All of these people were Roman Catholic. I would like to find records of the births, deaths and marriages in these families. And, I would like to find out if I have any relatives now in Turulung. Thank you for any help you can give me.
