Dear Dr Harry
We have a 2yo ster male cat named “Mr”. For the past 6 mths he has refused to come into the house at night.
We’re fairly sure it started about 6 mths ago when we were having problems our house alarm system. Mr would be put into the family area overnight with the door closed. Then for a period of about 2wks the wall handset would beep during the night. We had this fixed, but now we think the reason for the cat not wanting to come inside is because he got scared. We don’t seem to have a problem with Mr coming inside during the day, but from about 4pm it’s almost impossible to get him inside. Often he would seem to want to come in, but then run away as soon as we open the door or approach him.

We don’t like him being outside at night. We are also moving homes soon & we’re concerned that he will go missing permanently once we move into the new house if he continues to spend the whole night outside.

Can you help us - Leonie & Phill
