Cliffwood Beach was a popular resort in the 1950s and early 1960s, with a boardwalk
Hurricane Donna in September 1960. All that remains is the base of the swimming pool, which forms part of the western end of the township seawall.

YOUR INFORMATION STATES THAT HURRICANE DONNA IN SEPT. 1960 WASHED EVERY THING AWAY.

THERE WERE BUNGALOWS THERE -- THE SWIMMING POOL ALSO IN 1967.
I HAVE FRIENDS FROM THE BUNGALOWS THAT WE ARE STILL IN TOUCH FOR OVER 45 YEARS AND THEY WERE STILL GOING TO THE BUNGALOWS IN 1967. HOW COME YOUR INFO STATES 1960? THANK YOU.

Yes, you are right -- we know we were there in 1967 and wish there were other people that would be able to remember those great times.

If you read about Laurence Harbor and the bungalow colony they said Hurricane Donna washed the bungalows away and that is true because we all went from there to Cliffwood and spent the rest of our teenage years there and believe it or not quite a few marriages came from being in Cliffwood -- they were really great times.

Thank you for answering
