I called customer service line in Jamaica today to get assisted with transferring credit from a mobile number to another so i would be able to activate my modem that i recently purchased. The lady in the store that i purchased the modem explained the steps to me of how to activate the services for:1,7& 30 days so there was no issue she also showed me on her laptop the steps to take after i have added the credit to the modem. The following day i added the amount of 300JMD credit to my claro mobile number instead of the modem number, so i called customer care and explained to the first rep i got who was very nice(cant remember her name though) she informed me that i could just transfer the credit from the mobile number to the modem number, she even gave me the steps"*167#" but i got s message that the service i was trying to use was unavailable so i waited and tried again with no luck i called the customer care line again, got a second rep she told me that the "*167#" was not acting up as i was her first call she had about the issue so she gave me another code to use"*167*1876-the mobile number*the amount of credit#" that option also did not work same message "the service is unavailable try again later" by this time i was getting frustrated, so i made the 3rd call to customer care and asked the assistance to transfer the credit as i was having no luck because both codes did not seem to work. She told me point blank that she could not as the option was not available {just like the service to transfer the credit} so i asked if there was anyone that could even asked her to check with her manager and i would wait, so she placed me on hold for about 5 mins to check only to return with the same option "No we here at customer service can transfer credit" those were her exact words, she then informed me that she tried both the codes i was given and they were working fine,"so i must be doing something wrong" so i confirmed the codes and the options with her and she informed me that the steps was "right" so i then asked for her manager as she clearly was no help, as soon as the manager got on the phone*Melissa* she was being sarcastic and condescending she also sounded as if i was being a bother to her, she was unprofessional and clearly had no training on how to handle escalated calls i had to ask her to have the issue escalated and she had the nerve to tell me that i was the only one with the issue and they all tried the service and it worked, while expressing my dissatisfaction with her she had the nerve to says "is there anything else she could help me with" clearly she was no help, i had to disconnect the call and figure it out on my own. I must say that Claro Customer service in Jamaica has left a sour taste in my mouth. if i was not 9 months pregnant i would call the t.v station and express me nasty experience with the girls at the center on the 11/6/2011.
