Chapter 12, Why does Susan not realize Mark made a mistake in telling her that he checked his watch? He had know watch when they captured him and Mrs. Griffin says it broke. So mark made a mistake and it proves hes not that smart as she thinks he is.

Good point. Mark makes Susan sound so unsure when Mrs. Griffin is letting her have it about Mr. Griffin not wearing a watch. I think Mrs. Griffin now knows for sure that Susan had a part in his kidnapping because she is lying.

Absolutely, and I really applaud Mr. Griffin's wife for doing her own detective work. Of course, there is no one that cares about him and wants to find out what happened as much as she does. When I read this part, I was wondering if victims really do this and if it is legal/acceptable for citizens (and not police) to question potential suspects about such matters. What do you think? Does anyone know a police officer/lawyer they could ask about this? (for bonus points)

I don't know if its legal but it should be if its noit. in ancient Athens for example the citizens did the investigating, there weren't really police inless you count soldiers
