New color footage has recently surfaced from Chinese government archives of the Nixon Mao meeting pictrured above left.

Act 1, scene 2 of the 80's Houston opera show Mao meeting Nixon wearing a bright green army-style Sun Yat-sen suit. The new color archives show it was in fact gray.

Well that's because back in the 80's Houston grand opera only had b + W archival film/photos of the Nixon Mao meeting to go by. Its hard to discern green from grey in monochrome. Mao wore both as head of the Red Army and chairman of the party. But at the Nixon meeting he was in fact wearing grey not green as shown in the opera.
