Cardinal Friedrich Gustav Piffl was my great uncle on my mother's side. I am looking for more information on him ie his family. There is alot of reference to his having written a diary - I would like to find that as well as any other writings he did - I understand he was quit prolific

Hello Dear Wolf,
Cardinal Piffl was also my great Uncle although there was illegitimacy, and this brother was excommunicated by the family as he could not marry my great grandmother, but had 4 children with her, who all enjoyed the Cardinals attention and invitations etc, also a Piffl was witness to my grandmothers birth.
I would so like to find out more, I have some birth, death certs but they dont seem to be the right ones, some go back to 1823. My mother and grandmother are dead, and there is noone at all left to ask.
