What's up with this guy anyway? Anyone else out there think he's a dick?

I really think Derek did not have any respect for any of the crew members of the Cornelia Marie specially for the kids of Phil,Josh and Jake and he should it at list try to teach the kids how to survive, not to be knocked for it,not to be knocked for the lack of knowledge,he did not have any feelings about the kids just losing there father,i think he is an asshole...

I agree whole heartedly, and I'm glad he's gone it's to bad it cost the Cornelia Marie a valuable crew member.

He came onto the Cornilia Marie with a chip on his shoulder. He thought Phil was a bad captain and proceeded to tell his crew and boys that continuouly. I think he planted that pot to get the boys off the boat. He had alterer motive for everything he did. He is a B-A-S-T-A-R-D
and deserves no respect what so ever. If he is such a great fisherman, then why doesn't he have a boat of his own.
