Can someone tell me about a very unusual dial? The clock was made by Johann Schreiblmayr of Vienna in the late XVIII century. Since I cannot upload pictures here, I will do my best to explain: a normal dial as we all know, uses the old roman numbers from XII, III, VI, IX and back to XII. This one, however, starts off with VI, I, II, III, IIII, V and then goes back to VI. Someone told me a long time ago, that this type of dial was made for monasteries to denote certain prayer hours. Does anyone know more about it, or suggest some research direction?
Thanks
