Scruggs, Martin, Gill, Stewart, Schaeffer -- all recognized, but this is possibly the best collection of musical talent to ever perform Foggy Mountain Breakdown.
Scruggs has been awesome since the 1950s, Martin is as near a complete emtertainment genius as we will ever see, Shaeffer on the multiple keyboards is at the top of all lists, Vince Gill on lead guitar and Marty Stuart on mandolin are equal to any others on their instruments.
But the overall talent in this grop of Earl and Friends in unmatched.
These guys were playing for the sheer joy of the music, and would have been together without any money or recognition.
Gill and Stuart have been backup vocalist and instrumentalist for many award-winning CMA recording sessions.
As with Cash, George Jones, Ernest Tubb, Acuff and many others in Country (and Western) music, most of these people have been there to lend a hand to newcomers and provide realistic support and encouragement.
