Wikipedia has an article on Crisp that lists what may be all his runs in the UK. I just saw this and would love to get Crisp's Aussie record.
I am from Qld but used to work in Canberra and drove to Melbourne for the racing quite often. You can talk about the receptions for Black Caviar and Makybe Diva but the greatest reception I have ever seen was for Crisp when he won the Hiskens in 1970. It started from the home turn when it was obvious he would win, carrying around 12 stone as I recall. Every person on the course stood, clapped and cheered til he disappeared back to his stable.I was privileged to be there. Were you there at all?
