I've done a report on Connected Load Charges imposed by our local power provider http://guide4electricalconsultant.com/MD%20on%20CLC.html

Could somebody advise me, is there any Connected Load Charges imposed by local power provider at other countries.

My connected load surely higher than my declared Maximum Demand (MD),

Assuming that, I'm declaring the MD =90kW and my connected load is 100kW.

Does your power provider charging me based on 100kW?

In case, I’m not reaching my declared MD, did the power provider imposing me any penalty?

Dear Sir,
This will depend on the mode of tariff fixation. In case of MD based tariff the MD is considered as decleared MD or % of connected load depending on Demand Factor ( maximum demand / Connected load. In case the connsumer use less MD no penalty is imposed. If use more demand, additional charges are imposed on the exceeded portion of demand at twice the rate.

In case the tariff is calculated based on connected load, the consumer can use power upto his connected load without any additional charge.

The utility is to recover its cost with resonable return from the consumers. Different tariff models are adopted depending on the availibility of measuring device with economical scale commensurate with the consumer economic condition etc. Thankin gyou.
