In school we were taught that man built the brownshill dolmen using men, animals and trees as rollers to move it. Boulderdash. The Capstone alone weighs over 100 tonnes.

The capstone was the result of the end of the iceage,the dolmen was deposited with so many other large stones as the glaciers receded 10,000 years ago.

It only takes a small leap of the imagination to realise that to remove smaller stones from beneath A capstone is far easier than placing, lifting,raising or hauling europes largest capstone unto three boulders which were probably beneath the capstone already.

I think it's entirely possible that structure such as these could have been built using the methods that archeologists have described and even demonstrated in modern times. It's only been with the advent of industry that such projects have become so easy for us.
