Can someone describe who came up the idea of Broomfield Event Center and which city/county officials are responsible for that decision? Was there ever a popular vote to approve the $60 million bond?

I know that Karen Stuart was the mayor during its planning and construction. She was also quick to take credits for it in the beginning. What kind of deal she made with the developer, Wiens Development Group?

I am amazed by the lack of outrage for this boondocks project. Those elected officials spent our tax dollars on something exciting; the same mentality that has caused most foreclosures. It seems to me that the one thing in the project that may be actually making money is the super bright LED display on the busy Hwy 36.
