I am a MS patient diagnosed in 1992, Since that time my lifestyle has changed dramatically, I have had to quit my job, all my volunteer positions and because of the extreme fatigue spend much of my time sleeping-10 - 12 a day. I've learned how far to push myself doing any chores, etc. One of my biggest problem is that I've lost all my muscle in my bladder which in turn I drink very little liquids and always had to park nearest possible to a washroom whenever shopping, etc, I have been doing self catherization now for a couple years but my life changing time came last January when a pharmaceutical company supplies (at no cost to me) a Botox treatment on my bladder. These treatments last 3 months to a year.Mine lasted about 8 months and I'm scheduled for another injection on Oct 18. still have to use the catathier but it's been the best 8 months in years. No more depends and off medications that tried to help lessen the constant leakage. But now, unfortunately, Blue Cross nor the New Brunswick Medicare cover any of the cost which will be $1300.00. I am not using Botox as cosmetic product. I would like to know how many people are in this same situation.
