Back in the 1960's i used to purchase an indivually wrapped snack cake called a french pastry and want to know if your company made it
I worked at Interstate Bakeries back in 1962-63. I remember those french pastry snack cakes. Loved them. It was a chocolate-coated sponge cake with vanilla nucreme filling, with 2 pecans applied to the top.
I don't remember the pecans but I do remember the tan ones had toasted coconut on top.The cake was like a yellow layer, covered in chocolate with the white creamy filling in the center. They were oblong and about 6-8 inches long. They were sooooooooo goooooooood and not real expensive. We could buy them at the little neighbor grocery. With the price of inflation nowdays they would probably be 3-4 bucks each but I sure would love to sink my teeth into one.
I REMEMBER THESE FROM MY CHILDHOOD. sURE WISH THEY MADE THEM NOW. THOSE WERE TH MOST DELICIOUS SNACKFOOD I HAVE EVER EATEN. WOULD PAY ALOT FOR THEM AGAIN.
