Are you, too, a lone senior as target?

I now work in a small business w/a skeleton staff. One person in one department has "run off" every competent person hired to assist her so she can consolidate a kind of all powerful position as the only person who will do the job (unskilled kennel work). I have worked in all departments @ this place, including kennel, office, & groom assistance (bathing dogs). Bathing dogs is fairly rudimentary although I do focus on making my white dogs so white that the owners need to wear sunglasses to look @ them & my black dogs so shiny that you can find them in a dark room. You get the idea; I have a habit of excellence @ whatever job that I am assigned. I am 59 years old, w/six years of college (two years Dean's List in communication/psychology & an honors graduate Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology). There has been a lawsuit w/in the business (2006-2011). Throughout, this person straddled the fence, & part of her harassment is spurred by text messages from the "other side," someone else who has specifically targetted me, the senior on staff. I suppose that I have two topics. A senior as an easy target, & the old joke, about people who won't hire anyone who is really good on the job because that person might become a challenger. I've already complained; in fact, I told the owner(s) not to schedule me last December after this particular person verbally assaulted me every other day during Thanksgiving week. The person subsequently apologized for taking her problems out on me (paraphrased). Recently, same person declared me an "asshole" w/no witnesses for me to present to a boss. What to do when there are no jobs & no one hires seniors?
