Approx how much corn does it take to make a gal of alcohol?
Also what percentage of the bulk corn is left over at the end of the process and what is it's feed value compared to the pre processed corn?

From a bushel of corn 2.8 gallons of ethanol can be made. 3/4 of the bushel of corn is return as Dried Distiller Grains. In the process of creating ethanol only the starch is used. Dried distiller grains are higher in protein than corn by weight. Since it has higher nutritional value than corn less is used in animal feed, approximately 80%.
