After reading Histories of General Motors as written by AP Sloan and compairing ,The driving Force written by Heather Robertson. Either get it right by filtering out the non fact stuff. Edmonds site too has fiction. McLaughlin did build his own cars until Fisher Body started in the buisness in Canada and the USA. McLaughlin was getting old bodies from GM and building a Canadian GM car.GM historians have GM of Canada as a Dominion Company (what is that?)McLaughlin in 1964 sold his last holdings for GM for 15 million.I would venture to guess McLaughlin traded his Company (General Motors of Canada) up to 1964). Durant bought into Buick Motor Company and McLaughlin and Durant did have a contract for power trains for 15 years. This was the start of Durant to start a Holding Company called General Motors .The Driving Force should be considerd the history of General Motors as written by Heather Robertson. The facts Documented in her book are well founded. The fact that Chevrolet was built by McLaughlin in Canada before 1918 shows History is not factual, The build Documents I have show Cadillac build from 1923 in Canada. I find the US AACA and Cadillac clubs and Buick clubs all are blinded by the wrong information.I feel it is time to get it written as fact not sum $80,000 AP Sloan paid non historian writer.
Heather Robertson worked in the plant in Oshawa and did a great service to the History of General Motors of Canada if not General Motors.
