According to my local domestic relations office, there was a bill tabled about ten years ago that has never been brought back up. It states that once a child turns 18 and graduates highschool the real father dosen't have to pay support for that child any longer, even if that child enrolls in a technical school or college. Any idea what they are doing with that because we could really use the help? Not sure that a father's responsibility should end at that age, i thought once you had a child that child was yours till death?

Your legal responsibilities as a parent and guardian, however, extend only until the child reaches the age of consent.

Okay so if my child is in trouble then i shouldn't try and help them? Or if my child is slammed with school loans i shouldn't try and help him? I just don't understand some men these days. They make babies and think that just because their child is 18 or 24 or 34 that, that child is no longer their child. Well as a mom, i have to disagree, a child is a child for the rest of your life, its like saying no son i won't help you pay for your wedding, your on your own.
